yeeps
well. hello. how are you?
3 months of blogging silence. i'm not very good at this, eh? *_*
since i last wrote, i've:
~ gone to new york and performed on 42nd street
~ returned to korea and continued teaching
~ traveled to siem reap, cambodia to see angkor wat and several other khmer temples
~ departed the 20s and entered the big, bad 30s
~ traveled to hong kong again and shopped 'til my feet dropped off
~ wandered around seoul, seeing new neighborhoods and hiking mountains
~ come to realize how much i'm going to miss korea when i leave next month
mmmmm. yes. october 29 is my last day of teaching. rod and i are leaving on the 30th for a whirlwind backpacking tour of southeast asia - 4 or 5 weeks. i'll be back in minneapolis in early december. crazy, no? i can't believe it's been almost 2 years. i feel like i just got here.
i am looking forward to going home, though a large part of me will stay in korea. i would like to come back someday, i think. i feel like i've had the foreigner experience. next, i'd like to come back and study the korean language at a university, have the adoptee experience.
we'll see what happens.
photos of cambodia are here: http://www.smochs.phanfare.com/
rod and i are heading south next week to mokpo, on the southwestern edge of korea. we'll be island hopping for a few days during the chu'seok holiday next week. when we return, it's time to start packing, mailing things home, preparing for the backpacking trip, preparing to return to responsibility. ~lol~
to be continued....
