IRONY
The irony is killing me, folks. Surrounded by asians and can barely communicate with any of them. I've spent more time with white people in the last two days than I have in the past year and half, not counting time with my family. This is bizarre. Am calling an adoptee organization tomorrow. :) Had dinner with fellow teachers from another branch today, they took us to a korean bar called Cheers with tons of awful fried food and a literal mid-sized plastic barrel of beer. It was just like being in Wisconsin. ~lol~
Missing the theater folks, too. Missing you all. Super jet lagged. Going to sleep.

My dad read your blog yesterday, and he said, "I hope she doesn't really eat kimchee every day!" My whole family says hi. I'm trying to get Adam to post our pix to flikr, but I think he's coming down with my dad's cold. No more Lam family time--someone's always sick!
Are the other teachers able to help you learn the language, or are they beginners, too? You'll probably end up learning a lot from your kids once you start teaching. I'm sure they'll be happy to teach you lots of slang and swear words. :P
Groan. Cheers sounds awful! Hopefully your new white friends will develop better taste in venues in the future. Are they nice? Do you like them? Hope you're slowly starting to adjust to the time difference.
Here are some Korean slang words to get you started. Babo = dummy. Byongsheen = idiot. Shang = bitch. : )
Hi --
Just saw your blog -- glad that you are settling in. Be sure to get enough sleep and eat well. I have to go home now -- I spent all of my money. Enjoy yourself.
Hey Ochs!
So glad to hear you made it safely and are settling in. Bummer about the computer- stupid technology!
I love being able to read your updates on this- can't wait to see the pics.
Get some sleep- keep the updates coming!
