well. it looks like i'll be home for a while, now, unless something else turns up. my boss at work has been rather disingenuous, and i've decided not to come back. rod's not coming back either. it's hard to find work for less than a full year, i guess, at least at this school. i'm angry. oh well. i might apply for some winter camps. we'll see. going to be a weird next few months.
so, at any rate, dunno how long i'll be home. but i'll be back December 22. we'll see where it goes from there.
really really really really really pissed off at the lack of honesty here, but at the same time, a little bit excited. maybe if i come back i can do some privates and live in a more entertaining part of the city. hrm...... anyone have any advice about privates?

Sorry to hear that things aren't working out the way you wanted.
Reminds me of the trip we had planned to Hong Kong while we were in Korea. We went thru a travel agency and purchased airline tickets, hotel reservations, etc. We arranged for the girls to stay with neighbors and were looking forward to a full week of vacation. We were so excited and got to the airport, went to the ticket counter with our tickets in hand and said we were ready to go to Hong Kong. The agent looked at the tickets and said – “These are not tickets – you cannot get on the flight!” Dave and I were dumbfounded! We thought about trying to get there on stand-by status but didn’t know if we would have a hotel room when we got there – we ended up turning around and going home. Very disappointing. I have come to think that the travel agents just didn’t want to tell us “No, sorry we can’t get the arrangements you want.” I assumed they were just trying to say "Yes" to anything that we wanted but that meant they tended to ignore issues until the very last minute when they really had to face the reality of the situation.
We will however, be really excited to see you and hear more of your stories from your stay in Korea!
oh jan ~ that's terrible!! did you get to go to Hong Kong another time?? aish, that's so typical of how things are done here. my boss at work left all negotiations about next year's contract until the last minute, and now is trying to force people to accept crappy contracts because there's no time to make decisions. it's so frustrating.
anyway. will be good to be home for a while. we can share korea stories now! ~lol~ :)
But wait--no more kid pictures? Well, I guess I'll just have to make do with Sara time. :P
Good thing you found out now, before you went back, while you already had plans to be in MN. But now I can bug you to do all kinds of things, like come down and see my museum! Because really, it's all about me.

melinite ~ yeah. no more kid photos. oh god, i am going to miss these kids so so so so so much. hard not to get attached. they'll be fine without me, dunno if i'll be fine without them. ~lol~

Um... I learned most of what I know about privates when I was in college. But I don't think I should ... uh ... show you what I know.

Sara! Ohmigosh. I haven't checked your blog in a while and I can't believe you're coming home! That's so great, but I also feel so bad about the circumstances! That's terrible. Really, really disappointing and frustrating, I'm sure. I hope it'll work out one way or another, and I hope that you and Rod can figure out a way to be together.
Anyway, of course I'd love to see you! It looks like we'll be here over the holidays and my folks won't be able to make it down, so I'll definitely have time. I hope you're doing okay!
