an opportunity to stay

oh, it's so weird here! my boss approached me today during prep time. she said that she had been thinking about this year and she really wants rod and i to stay at work. she still can't give us a flight, but she offered more money so it would be easier for us to save for a flight home...... i was all prepared to go home. i've told some of my students that i'm not coming back. most of my stuff is packed up. i don't know what to do.

i don't know if rod will come back. he is pretty set on going home, now, i think.

i kind of want to stay. i kind of want to go home.

yeeps.

"Thank you for riding Good Intention's Express Elevator to Hell. Have a nice day!"

Wishy-washy boss = bad day at work.
Wishy-washy boss overseas = bad year at work. I think it's time to go back to some of those shrines and do some meditation. Or do a lot of talking to more veteran overseas teachers. Or get your tea leaves read. Or, you could just go ahead and volunteer to colonize the moon. They'll need ESL teachers, there, right?? :)

For what it's worth, I advocate sticking to your first alternative plan, and finding a different school to return through. Sign contracts in haste, repent at leisure. Love you!

oi, melinite, thank you! the problem is that i can't get a 5 month contract with another school. if i want to do happy valley in june, i'm sort of tied to this school if they'll give me work. ~unless~ i want to try to start teaching private lessons, which would involve changing my visa, finding a place to live, and finding students. though, that might be more exciting. but i don't know if i have enough time to do it. and then there's the problem of what do i do with my students after 5 months when i leave in june and then come back in july - will they wait a month? sheesh. i dunno.

oioioioioi, thank you jen! ~_~

Ah HAH! It's JEN'S fault! (lol) Just kidding, Jen! :)

Hrm--I forgot about June and that taking time off for you is (hello) completely frickin different than it is for me. Yeah, I roll my eyes at myself, too.
