..... i'm staying. rod's staying. life is happy. i am confused why my boss suddenly changed her mind and wanted us to stay. i keep waiting for a catch, terrible suspicious mind that i have.
overall though, am really happy. i'm not ready to leave. this will be just the right amount of time, i think. i'll be here january through august, with a month off in june for a show. rod will be here february through july.
happiness. cautious happiness. it will be awkward to tell my co-workers. one of them wasn't asked back for next year, unfortunately. he's a great teacher and a cool guy and he really wanted to stay. :< also, i'd asked one co-worker if she wanted our microwave and toaster oven and some pots and pans. 10 minutes later my boss stopped into my room and offered the job for next year. oi. timing. oh well.
i'll still be home over christmas - december 22nd through the 30th or 31st. i have to talk with my boss today and try to get a flight home on the 31st, so i can head to nan's on the 30th to see all of the family.
friends - anyone want to hang out somewhere on friday the 29th? i wasn't rushing to make plans, was thinking i'd be home for 6 months so there'd be lots of time to see everyone. whoops. ~0~

On to the partying. . .I believe there's going be a big theater bash on the evening of the 30th. Maybe it will go later than your family thing and you can join in!
Otherwise. . .yeah. There had better be lots of parties, 'cause after all, WE are going to be HOME. Forget Jesus and the calendar. Smochs and Scott, people!!
OMG, my calendar is destroyed for the next month, and I still don't know when my in-laws are going to be here. That thud was my spine giving out. Just tell me what night and where, and I'll be there after 10. :)

Well, it sounds like things have worked out the way you had originally wanted. The turmoil and indecision will just help you remember this episode. We had a similar episode last weekend when we got our Christmas tree.
We were all gathered and in the van going to Somerset to cut down the perfect tree for Christmas this year. We were lacking any snow to cover the ground but I guess by now that’s not too bad anyway (we must be getting old). As I was driving the van we all noticed a very strong gas odor in the van. By the time we were in North Hudson it had not subsided and we decided to stop at Alwin’s (luckily they were still open). One of the repairmen checked and after a minute or so he found the problem. A gas leak in the engine – a small pool of gas was about a half inch from the hot engine! We had to have the van towed across town – but we all got our first ride in a tow truck! After that delay we got back home and changed cars – we were now going to be using the Cavalier to get our tree. Yes, we were able to fit the almost 9 ft. tree on the car! But what an adventure.
We will be glad to see you when you are home for Christmas!

awww man, and here i was all excited that you were coming home for good! ok, i can do short visits too, i suppose. :I i'll be dog sitting so come visit me at my "2nd home" by lake harriet. :)

Yay! I'm glad you'll be able to stay and do some more teaching, exploring, traveling, etc. I'm also very glad that Rod will stay- sounds like all is working out.
The part that thrills me most is that you're still coming home for Christmas. Yay!

Yay hooray! For all of it. I'm so glad we'll get to see you for a little bit, though! Not sure about my schedule that week yet, but I definitely want to get together, so keep me up on your schedule, okay? STOOD!!!
